To become an au pair or host family in Germany, certain criteria must be met.
Requirements for EU and EFTA Citizens
To qualify as an au pair in Germany, EU and EFTA citizens must meet the following conditions:
Aged between 17 and 30 years old.
Basic knowledge of the German language.
Unmarried and without children.
Able to afford the trip to Germany.
Requirements for Non-EU Citizens
Non-EU citizens must meet these criteria to become an au pair in Germany:
Aged between 18 and 26 years old.

Willing to work as an au pair in Germany for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months.

Expect the au pair to take care of children and do light housework.
Speak German in daily life.
