Requirements for Au Pairs
Aged between 18 and 25 years old (up to 30 years old for EU citizens).
Unmarried and without children.
Have never had a work permit before in Belgium.
Basic knowledge of either Dutch, French, or German, depending on the region.
Have a school-leaving qualification that allows university attendance or proof of schooling up to age 17.
Able to cover the expenses of your au pair stay and return trip.
Requirements for Host Families
At least one child under the age of 13 living in the household.
Provide an individual bedroom and a key to the home for the au pair.
Au pair assists with childcare and is treated as a family member.
Speak Dutch, French, or German in daily family life.
Prepared to give the au pair sufficient time to attend a language course.
Different nationality from the au pair.
Able to cover the costs arising from the au pair stay.
